Receipts and labels are not two systems
The call is the same shape for both: a printer name, a template name and the values. That the one is a strip that grows and the other a sheet of a fixed size is our problem, not yours — you point at a name and the right thing comes out.
What you need
A receipt printer and a label printer
ESC/POS for the receipt, a DYMO LabelWriter for the labels. Two USB printers fit on one bridge.
One bridge
On wifi or ethernet, behind the counter. The till talks to us, not to the printer.
Whatever you sell with
A browser till, a shop system, a spreadsheet. If it can make an HTTP request, it can print.
Questions from behind the counter
Which label rolls work?
The ones that go in a LabelWriter. Address, shipping, multi-purpose — the template says which size it was drawn for, so it cannot end up on the wrong roll unnoticed.
Can the same till print to two shops?
Yes. Printers have names, and a name is what you point at. Two shops means two bridges and different names.
Our till runs in a browser tab. Is that a problem?
That is exactly the case this was built for. The tab makes an HTTP request; nothing has to be installed on that machine.
What about the customer copy?
Same call, copies: 2. Or a second template if the copy should look different.

Make an account, plug a bridge into a printer you already have, and the same call prints on paper.
