Cookie policy
11 September 2026
This page explains exactly what is stored in your browser when you visit instntprint.com, who puts it there and how long it stays. It is short because there is little to tell — and what there is, is here in full.
1.What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser, which the browser sends back on every next request. It is how a site remembers that you are signed in. Alongside cookies, a site can use local storage: the same idea, but it stays in the browser and is never sent along automatically.
We use both, and we list both here. Calling only one of them a cookie would be a technicality that hides something from you.
2.Why there are so few
Counting visits does not need a cookie. Our own counter sends one message per page view — which page, and which site sent you here — and nothing that sets you apart from anyone else. How many different people visited on a day is worked out on our server with a salt that changes daily, so a visit today cannot be tied to a visit tomorrow. Those counts are deleted after 90 days.
Google Analytics does need cookies, and it is the only thing on this site that does. That is why it is off until you say otherwise.
3.What we place, and when
Necessary items are placed straight away: without them the site cannot do what you came for. Analytics cookies are placed only after you allow it. Until then no Google script is loaded at all — not blocked, not loaded-but-silent, simply not fetched.
Strictly necessary
Needed to make the site and the dashboard work at all: remembering that you are signed in, and remembering this choice. These cannot be switched off.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| dymo_session | Instnt Print | Keeps you signed in to the dashboard. Only set after you sign in. | Until you sign out |
| instnt-consent-v1 | Instnt Print | Stores your choice here, so we do not ask again on every page. Kept in your browser, not sent to us. | 12 months (local storage) |
Analytics
Google Analytics, so we can see which pages are read and which are skipped. Only after you allow it; IP addresses are anonymised.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Ireland Ltd. | Tells returning visits apart from new ones. | 2 years |
| _ga_9XHZGC104L | Google Ireland Ltd. | Keeps the state of your visit within one session. | 2 years |
Marketing
For measuring campaigns and showing relevant content elsewhere. We do not use this at the moment; the category is here so you can see that, not so we can fill it later without telling you.
We currently place no cookies in this category.
4.Changing or withdrawing your choice
Use the cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page. Your choice takes effect immediately: switch analytics off and we tell Google to stop, on the same page view.
Cookies already placed are not removed by that switch. You can delete them yourself in your browser settings, under privacy or website data. Doing so also removes your saved choice, so we will ask again on your next visit.
5.Changes to this policy
If we ever add something that stores data in your browser, it is added to the table above before it goes live, and the date at the top changes. If it falls outside the necessary category, we ask you again.
